You will see throughout this website and my Facebook page, that I get involved, I always have and plan to continue. I served my Country in the US Navy and I was committed during those 26 years, retiring at the highest enlisted rank, Master Chief (Surface Warfare) (E9). After retiring from the Navy, I worked for 18 years here on the Treasure Coast as the owner and professional inspector of Heaning Home Inspections. I then transitioned into real estate, where I have been a top notch agent for the past 8 years.
Throughout the 23 years since I retired from the Navy I have been a continuous member of the St Lucie Chamber of Commerce. This was an avenue to help me be a great community business asset. I also like being a part of St Lucie County's growth. Next, I got involved with the City of Fort Pierce. As you will see listed below, I volunteered to be on the Surtax Infrastructure Oversite Committee, learning how the city works, where money comes from, how & where it's spent. I also was able to get on the City's Parking Committee and then appointed to the Planning Board, where my interest in the City grew.
I stand for and will speak out and vote for smart growth with proper infrastructure. I also believe in public safety & appropriately funding the Police and Fire Departments. I also want to see more affordable housing for our residents - reasonable rents and working on ways to alert families trying to purchase their first home about the several housing loans/grants/resources that are available and often not used.
I feel I have learned a lot, with seeing how the city operates from these Committees and the Planning Board but....... I also see that while these committees and Boards are very important to the way the city runs and the decisions are made, they are only recommendations to the City Commission. I know I can make a positive difference for the City by being on the Commission where the final decisions are made. Speak my mind with smart growth in our city, not jumping into the Miami waterfront look.
People that know me, know I'm not a shy guy nor a speak before I think kind of guy......, I want to know what the people of Fort Pierce want, to know people I represent in District 2 and how they feel about things, before a final decision is made. I am out there and talking to people, I am a good listener and will always do what's best for the City and of course my District!
I am available for people to call, text and email me, or meet with groups to talk about upcoming issues, before a vote is on the table. The City is only as strong as its leadership. I know Leadership, I have been living it my whole life. Again I listen and that is what makes a great leader!
